Optionweb Takes Binary Options Regulation Seriously

Posted on by John Thiel

Optionweb has recently taken the binary options industry by storm by becoming the first truly European regulated binary options broker. A simple look at their licenses will reveal that they are not only CySec-licensed, but are also ACP authorized (Spanish License), FCA approved (UK), and also have additional licenses from the CNMV, Consob, and Bafin (German Authorities).

Binary options trading has been gaining popularity, and with the massive increase in new brokers entering the scene, regulation is becoming the topic of the day. Licences from jurisdictions like Belize can mean you are dealing with a rogue operator with a certain probability of a scam broker. However, competition has a way of empowering the traders, so even unregulated brokers are providing excellent service these days, with fast cash outs and high response times from the support staff and account managers.

Its worth mentioning that many of the so called regulated brokers like 24Option started out as unregulated brands and have made a decision to exit the US market due to recent efforts from the SEC and what has been advertised as a crackdown on unregulated brokers such as banc de binary. Other brokers such as Anyoption, and more recently Traderush are making a transition and will soon stop accepting US traders leaving brokers such as Cedar Finance, Regal Options, and Optimarkets available for US-based traders.
